Responding to media coverage of the government’s prisoner early-release scheme, including the case of the men convicted of PC Harper’s manslaughter. Felicity said it was “dreadful” that the UK publicity machine targets young people who had no intent to kill or cause grievous bodily harm.
She argued that understanding how and why young people take risks, even those with tragic consequences, and greater use of restorative justice, should lead to much lower sentences.
