In honour of World Press Freedom Felicity spoke at a webinar presented by the IBA’s Human Rights Institute and the Human Rights Lawyers Association (HRLA) on Human Rights in the Media. The panel was co-chaired by Shoaib M Khan (Chair of HRLA) and Baroness Helena Kennedy LT KC (Director of IBAHRI), and featured leading practitioners, media law academics and legal journalists. Panelists discussed ‘the critical role of the media in shaping how human rights are represented, the importance of a free press in exposing human rights violations and the power and responsibility of the media to hold the powerful to account and advance human rights-based narratives.’
