This week, the Marie Antoinette prize for failing to grasp the reality of a situation went to the newly appointed Minister for Justice Chris Grayling for his inhumane response to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) judgment in the case of James, Wells and Lee v. UK that the UK had violated art.5(1) ECHR, by detaining prisoners indefinitely on the grounds of risk without giving them access to rehabilitative courses.
